About the event

New Voices of Potton is an adult mixed voice choir based in Potton, Bedfordshire.

Musical Director: Anne Wright.

We are an adult mixed voice choir SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). At present there are around 33 members and we are looking to build up the club and to recruit more members especially tenors and basses. All voices welcome. No voice test.

We sing a mixture of popular and modern music that suits the number and type of voices that we have. Previously we’ve sung things from films like LaLa land, from musicals like Sweeney Todd and Blood Brothers, Christmas Carols and seasonal music, Disney, Frank Sinatra etc. In 2022 we are looking at the following music: Rutter's This is the Day; Stopford's Jubilate and a specially written piece for the Jubilee, A Life Lived with Grace. The choir hopes to take part in Potton's Jubilee celebrations which include a beacon lighting and a concert

Subs are £10 per month payable by direct debit. New members are not expected to pay straight away and are welcome to come along and find out whether our group is for you. Please feel free to bring a friend. Drop us a message if you intend coming so we know to look out for you. Existing members will be contacted by the Treasurer to arrange subs payments. Printed music is provided free to borrow and is included in the cost of membership. The subs also cover the cost of the rehearsal venue and for the services of the Musical Director.

When?

We meet every Wednesday in term time - doors open at 7.30 and singing starts at 7.45pm and finishes at 9.30pm
