Central Bedfordshire Council have shared that Kerbside dry mixed recycling collections have been temporarily suspended. This is due to a fire at a Waste Transfer Station facility in Bletchley where waste is taken for processing.
Council officers are working closely with the contractor to put alternative Waste Transfer arrangements in place to minimise the impact on residents.
Residents are being asked to put their dry recycling bin out for collection as usual because, as soon as they are able, collections will recommence.
General waste, food waste and garden waste collections are continuing as normal.
For glass, residents can continue to use bottle banks.
At present, the household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) are operating as normal. However, if possible, please store bulky waste materials at home rather than bring them to the HWRCs during this period of disruption.
Central Bedfordshire Council will keep their website updated and continue to share updates through their social media channels.
