Heard the news today, Potton? Anglian Water is making headlines for all the wrong reasons, with Ofwat proposing a £62.8 million enforcement package due to "excessive spills from storm overflows" and failures in their wastewater management. Yikes!

While it's disappointing to hear, the good news (and where Potton comes in!) is that Anglian Water has accepted responsibility and is now tasked with putting things right. Part of this massive package includes a £5.8 million Community Fund dedicated to local environmental and social causes in our region!

This got us thinking: What could Potton do with a slice of that pie to make our local environment even better?

We know our community cares deeply about our green and water spaces so we thought let's brainstorm for Potton

  • Dream Big: If Potton could get a grant from Anglian Water's new community fund, what environmental project would you propose? (e.g., "More litter picks for our local nature spots!", "Improving a local stream or pond for wildlife!", "Community gardening initiatives to boost biodiversity!").

  • Water Wise Tips: What's your top tip for being more water-efficient at home? (e.g., "Shorter showers!", "Collecting rainwater for the garden!").

  • Good News Stories: Share a positive story about a local environmental effort or a beautiful spot in Potton that makes you appreciate our environment.

Let's turn this news into a positive wave of ideas for Potton! Share your thoughts, big or small, in the comments below. Let's show Anglian Water what a proactive and environmentally-minded community we are!
